Dustin Pike's Challenge - "Make Me Laugh" my #2 card

Dustin’s “Make me laugh” Challenge was so much fun I had to try again.  I designed the inside before I came up with the outside of this card.  Not the way I usually make a card.  Maybe the cold medicine is getting to me!? :-}

There is still time for you to go and join him over at: http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/09/challenge-make-us-laugh-and-winners.html

I used:
Dustin’s: 84c (candy canes x 6), on the inside Augartwork19 (Skelton with
tombstone) & Santa Hat digital stamps
The words were computer generated in MS Word.
Stickles (Of Course!) red and stardust
Card stock: black, red and white
Pop dots
*Not sure where the green paper came from.  It must have fallen out of one of my stacks.  I like how it has a textured look to it.

Front of the card:

Inside the card:

Let me know what you think of my card or any of my projects.  I love getting comments from you.

Hambo Hoedown "CASE Challenge" my #2

Hambo Hoedown is still having their CASE (Copy And Share Everything) Challenge and I am entering another card.  Since I am sick I am finding I have a lot of  time to craft today.  Hambo Hoedown’s CASE Challenge is here: http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/2011/09/case-for-goodbyes.html.
This card had it's problems (maybe because I am sick) but I think I worked through them pretty well.  I did not have ribbon like Beverly did so I had to make my ribbon from card stock and a white gel pen.  Looks pretty good, I think.  Also I did not have her lovely paper but I found the strips of paper I used in my scrap bin.

I used:
Paper from my scrap bin
Stickles stardust
Nestabilities: circle and scallop circle
1 inch EK Success punch
Black and White card stock
Hambo’s “Dragonfly” digi

And the original CASE card:

Dustin Pike's Challenge - "Make Me Laugh"

Still home sick with this stinking cold, but it gives me time to craft.  Just wish I could breathe out of my nose a little and this headache would go away but it was lovely of my husband to share it.

Dustin’s challenge was funny, well it is funny.  Okay the Challenge is “make me laugh” and I had so much fun.  I think his Out House “Out of order” lends itself very well to this challenge.  So with a few cute words, Waaalaaa!

There is still time for you to go and join him over at: http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/09/challenge-make-us-laugh-and-winners.html and check out the teaser he has for some Halloween goodies coming soon.

I used for this card:
Fiskars edge punch and two snowflake punches
Word art in MS Word
Dustin Pikes “Out of order” digi
Green, white and black card stock
Pop dots
Stickles “Stardust”
And lots of cold medicine!!!

Leave me some comments, I love hearing from you and become a follower while you are here it only takes a moment.  Thanks for stopping by and come back real soon.

Hambo Hoedown "CASE Challenge"

Hambo Hoedown has a CASE (Copy And Share Everything) Challenge over at their blog.  You can find it here:  http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/2011/09/case-for-goodbyes.html and you can find a link to their gallery’s here: (main Gallery) : http://www.hambostamps.com/gallery.htm and (Digi Gallery): http://www.hambostamps.com/digitalgallery.htmGo and check them out and join the challenge.  So this week is as I said CASE Challenge and what you do is look through their galleries and find a card you want to CASE on your blog and you make a card like it.  Both galleries are full of wonderful cards and great ideas.  You will not have a problem picking a card (you might have a problem picking only one card).
I am CASEing a card from the Main Gallery by under Miscellaneous by Libby Hickson.  I used a bull dog clip instead of her cute little clip (which I did not have) and I used the new image “Dragonfly” from Hambo Hoedown with the “thinking of you saying.”  I used paper from my scrap bin, pop dots on the wing to make them stand up and a white gel pen to make the dots and had a ball doing it.  I also used “Stickles” stardust go give it some bling.  Love that glitter!

And the orignal CASE card:

DYSU Challenge #38 Duo

DYSU Challenge #38 is Duo!  Loads of fun coming up with something with two.  You only have a short time to enter the challenge so hurry and go to http://doyoustackup.blogspot.com/2011/09/dysu-challenge-38-duo.html .     I used two of Dustin Pike's images and left the background black to make the pictures pop.  Speaking of pop, I used short and regular pop dots so the roof has an angle to it and popped up the front door wreath.
I used:
Dustin Pike's: Lodge digi and his Swag digi
Glossy Accents on the windows, lantern and light bulbs on the roof
Stickles: Stardust on all the snow
Glitter Gel pens:
     Red on bows and berries
      Yellow on popcorn
Pop dots: both short and regular
Black and white card stock

Hambo Hoedown "A Special Kind of Challenge"

A challenge at Hambo Hoedown “A Special Kind Of Challenge”, and this time it is for OWH (Operation Write Home).   I stuck to their rules of NO GLITTER and it was really hard.  I wanted to spruce it up but I restrained myself.    Then when I was finished with the card I noticed I used a 5 x 7 card (My normal size) OWH requires a 4.25 x 5.5 card.  WOOPS!  Don’t know how I missed it.  It is all about the details so if you join the challenge make sure you read carefully (not like me).   That’s okay; there will be other challenges and other opportunities to send cards to OWH.  You can find the Hambo Hoedown challenge here: http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/2011/09/special-kind-of-challenge.html .

Supplies Used:
Hambo – Cool Cat and Pig Sub
Circle Nestabilities
Some nylon rope out of my husband’s stash (SHHHH don’t tell him)
Dimensional tape
Fancy Tag by EK Success
Colored pencils and markers
Paper from sei the Black Orchid collection
6 grommets from my stash (used my Crop-A-Dile2)
And some black and white card stock

I am editing this blog to include my card to be sent to OWH.  I felt really bad about not having the dimensions right so I made a mini card.  Well mini to me.   Good thing I just got new glasses since some of the coloring is small.  I will send this off to Monica tomorrow morning.  Thanks for letting me play.

Make sure you leave a comment I love hearing from you.  You can also become a follower, I promise it doesn’t hurt a bit.  LOL.

Get Well Card - "Yummy in My Tummy" Challenge

This is a get well card for a sick friend.  I know this will cheer up a friend of mine who is feeling a bit under the weather.  I saw an image on the web somewhere and sometime back of making a card to look like a can of soup.  Wanted to use Dustin Pike’s Chicken in a pot (Marday26B) in fact I liked it so much I had to use it twice.  I hope it looks enough like a can of soup to pass.  Not sure if I am going to put this in a gift basket with soup, bowl, spoon and tissues or not.  Guess we will see.  :-}
I am entering this card in the “Yummy in My Tummy” Challenge over at Dustin Pike’s.  You only have a couple of hours to enter so get over there and check it out.  It is loads of fun and you get loads of inspiration from the DT Team.  You can find his challenge here:   http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/08/challenge-yummy-in-my-tummy.html

Used:
Dustin Pikes digi stamp – MarDay26B
Computer generated word art
Stickles – Star dust around outer scallop circle
Nestabilities Circle Scallops
Dimensional tape to raise the can off card
White and Red card stock

Inside

As always I would love to hear from you so leave me a comment.  While you are here become a follower!

Martha Stewart’s ooey gooey punch
Stickles stardust – on the apple highlights and green goo
Computer generated words.
